Armistice Service Sunday 14th November 2021

Once again, members of Queensferry History Group gathered to participate in the Armistice Parade led by the armed services and uniformed youth groups, on Sunday, 14th November, along Queensferry High Street, to lay their poppy wreath amongst the 19 wreaths laid that day. Beneath the War Memorial at Rosebery Hall.

Early in the morning we hung the poppy drape at Rosebery Hall where the service would be held, beside the War Memorials.  This poppy drape was a community project initiated by Queensferry History Group, in 2018, to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the end of WWI.

The moving service was led by Reverend David Cameron of Queensferry Parish Church supported by Father Deely of St Margaret’s Church and Reverend Dr Ian MacRobert of the Priory Church.

Our wreath, as usual, was bearing a piece of the original Queensferry tartan to commemorate all our Queensferry boys who did not return.
